Hebrews 12:27-28 Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may[fn] serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

Psalm 112: Surely he (a good man) will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.

Just as Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ was frightened on her journey to find her way home, many of us feel as if we are standing on shifting sands and a shaking foundation. The Bible warns us that there will be a time when the whole earth will be shaken but God says that a righteous man will never be shaken. In this most unusual election season we are witnessing a shaking of the political institutions in America.

When something is shaken, things fall off. That which is corrupt is revealed and falls leaving that which is good and just. The shaking going on during this season is for the purpose of shifting power structures from the establishment elitist back to “we the people”. This is a good thing and instead of reacting out of fear we should seek God for His perspective on this election.

When we get His perspective then we can come into agreement with what He is doing. Usually He does the opposite from what we, as mere humans, would do. No one could have predicted that out of seventeen candidates running in the Republican primary that Trump would be the last man standing. God knew. Could it be that all of our angst regarding a Trump presidency is really a sign that we are not trusting that God is up to something?

God has heard the cries for mercy, truth and justice for America. We hear the news from this weekend and the evil intentions of those who hate all that America stands for. Yet, no one died and in New Jersey God delayed the start of the Marine Charity Race allowing the bomb to go off before the race started. He loves us and He hears us as we cry out for safety and mercy. How awesome is our God! Just look at how quickly the terrorists were arrested.

So it is time for us to consider that maybe Mr. Trump is the one to lead America through a very trying economic time as well as the most dangerous time the world has ever seen. We know that Mrs. Clinton will continue down the same path as the Obama administration has taken us. Those of us who don’t like either one must look at the party platforms of each party to see where they want to take this nation. Read them and gain knowledge, understanding and the wisdom to act accordingly.

We need to be informed. The Bible tells us that “without knowledge the people perish”. Let us not be a people without knowledge because in these trying times we need knowledge, understanding and wisdom to navigate through the chaos. Read Proverbs 2. The people of God are the ones who can step up and provide solutions to the nations’ ills.

Instead of being frightened, depressed and negative I am hopeful and excited because I see opportunity for the Gospel of the Kingdom to go forth in a powerful way. Read Isaiah 45. The next president of the United States will be the 45th president.

God uses leaders that have what is needed for the times even when they were considered unbelievers. Cyrus and Darius were used to bless the nation of Israel, Lincoln was used to unite a divided nation, and Churchill was used to defeat Hitler. These are just a few examples of how God uses unbelievers because (unlike us) He sees their true hearts, motives and strengths.

Be thankful for this season where everything is being revealed that needs to be revealed about the party structure and political establishment of both parties. Nothing can change until the truth is revealed and praise God things are being revealed!
